This kit can be modified into a Hawker Demon. The following information is provided to assist you, but you should always do your own research prior to modifying your model. The RAAF Demon was actually closer in specifications to a Hawker Hind than the RAF Demon. RAAF aircraft were powered by a 560 hp Rolls Royce Kestrel V V12 liquid cooled engine. (RAF Demons used 485 hp Kestrel IIS or 584 hp Kestrel VDR engines). Developed as a fighter version of the Hart, the Demon fighter variant added a second synchronised forward firing .303 in (7.7 mm) Vickers machine gun (to the starboard side...the Hart was only fitted with a fixed Vickers MG on the port side) and the coaming of the rear cockpit was angled to give the rear (Lewis) gunner better field of fire. RAF Demons featured a long exahust attached to the fuselage sides ending below/behind the rear gunner. RAAF Demons used either simple straight exhaust pipes (six per side) or a "ram's horn" exhaust manifold muffler/flame dampener, 3 per side, that grouped pairs of exhaust stubs.
