US Navy FORREST SHERMAN Class Destroyer
ATLANTIS is a new model manufacturing company that is re-issuing classic kits from the 1950s, 60s & 70s.
Scales were not standardised at the time and the classic brands produced what are now commonly known as 'fit the box' scale kits. To be more precise, they should be known as 'fit the machine' as they were often produced in a size that best used the capability of the injection molding tooling and machinery in use.
This kit was first released in 1958 by Revell. (So dont expect the fidelity of today's hi-tech kits!)
At 1/320, this kit is close to the usual 1/350 scale now standard modern production.
Requires Assembly. Paint and Glue are not included.

Why is Modify to CHARLES F. ADAMS (CFA)/ PERTH Class DDG noted in the title?
The most common naval kit question I get is; Can you get a 1/350 Charles F. Adams or Perth Class DDG?
1/350 kits of the CFA are available (NOT on this site) but are resin and very expensive. Look for L'Arsenal, Iron Shipwrights and White Ensign.
The kits require modification to RAN PERTH Class DDG. AFAIK - there is no Out Of The Box PERTH Class in 1/350.
With a fair amount of modification, this Atlantis kit could be modified to represent a DDG.
The CFA DDG-2 class were built on an enlarged Forrest Sherman hull with increased freeboard forward and 19 feet (5.8 m) of length was added to the center of the design to accomodate an ASROC launcher. The DDG-2 were the first class designed to serve as guided-missile destroyers.
You will need to do a lot of research and scratch building to get a DDG out of this kit. If you have the time, this is a cheaper way than the resin kits noted. For the RAN modeller, 1/350 IKARA Missile & Launcher are available opn this site.
