DEKL'S Australian Military Aviation Series.
1/72 scale waterslide decal markings. Be sure to read the notes below on using DEKL'S.
Markings provided for;
* MW140 Avro York 'Endeavour' of the Govenor General's Flight (A74-1, retained RAF serial) in either camouflage or natural metal, both schemes with RAAF Pacific theatre roundels.
The decal instructions note the camouflage scheme as a What If as though there are some web references to a camouflaged York in RAAF service, it is unlikley they are correct.
I have three photos of a camouflaged York that were captioned;
'Morotai, Pitoe_1945'
'Mallala 1946 with Tankers', and
'This was the Duke of Gloucester's plane...sent...to fly our POW boys home from Morotai'. Not dated.
None of these images show the serial.
The respected adf serials web site notes that MW140 was transferred to RAAF in March 1945 and allocated to the Governor Generals Flight in April 1945.
It is well established that when the York departed England in February 1945, it was in natural metal finish with standard RAF markings.
The York was used for long-range flights including the Duke of Gloucester's tour of New Guinea, New Britain, and Bougainville Island in June/July 1945.
AWM photo 3985642 that shows the Duke of Gloucester greeting Australian Generals at PIVA airstrip on 02 July 1945. The York is in natural metal finish with RAAF Blue/White roundels. (Though the fuselage roundel shows a yellow outer ring, (or a stain resulting from its removal?)
MW140 was also used in September and October 1945 to evacuate ex-POWs from Singapore.
It is possible for MW140 to have been camouflaged for its role in evacuating POWs from Singapore....but seems most unlikely as the war had ended.
LASER PRINTED decals provide National Markings, serial numbers, essential stencil data and Govenor General's standard.

Using DEKL'S:
DEKL'S are very limited run of "boutique" decals produced to fill the gaps in your model collection that the Big Name decal producers of the world are unlikely to release.
These are Laser print decals on continuous carrier film. Each individual design needs to cut out of the sheet.
PLEASE READ THE DECAL APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS SUPPLIED.
Some designs may be supplied with additional 'whites' (for backing) should the modeller wish to use them.
Keep in mind that these Decals and the instruction drawings are not intended as a technical or historical document of the aircraft type. They are produced within practical and economic limitations. Advanced modellers may have access to other references or have differing opinions on the depicted subjects. Please keep in mind that the market for this genre of decals is VERY small.
